Propionibacterium acnes (P.acnes) thrive on the fatty acids within our pores. When these pores become blocked, the P.acnes proliferate vigorously. They break down saturated fatty acids, generating large amounts of free fatty acids, which infiltrate the skin through the pores, triggering a cutaneous stress response that manifests as acne, redness, and swelling. WActive® Pionin can inhibit the growth of Propionibacterium acnes efficiently, damage the bacteria by causing collapse of cell membrane and intracellular degradation, thus promoting acne reduction.
