Iscaguard BIB is a liquid blend of Bronopol (2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol) and IPBC (Iodopropynyl butylcarbamate) in benzyl alcohol. The incorporation of benzyl alcohol increases the headspace protection of many cosmetic products during storage, while further boosting the already broad spectrum antimicrobial activity of the Bronopol and IPBC blend. Iscaguard BIB blend is highly potent against fungal spoilage.
Iscaguard BIB can be processed at temperatures up to 40 °C, but only for brief periods.
Care should be taken to avoid the formation of nitrosamines. Not to be used in prod
ucts for children under 3, except bath products / shower gels/ shampoos. Not to be
used in body lotion and body cream. Not to be used in lip and oral care products.
