MORE INFO
.: Brief Description :.
Described by Linné for the first time in 1753, the Spiral of the Sea or Fucus spiralis, is a brown alga from the Fucaceae family. With a color from
green to brown, it is made up of a short and solid stem (stipe), from which grows a dichotomous leaf (frond). It has no floaters and wraps itself around
its longitudinal axis, giving it a spiral or braided aspect.
This macroalga, which clings to rocks, is very often immersed (70% of the time), which explains its adaptation and its ability to RESIST THE SIGNIFICANT VARIATIONS IN THE ENVIRONMENT. When the Spiral of the Sea is subjected to stressful conditions leading to it severely drying
out, it can survive them for long periods, of up to 4 years. Also RICH IN FUCOIDANS and with high PHLOROTANNINS CONCENTRATION
(CerantolaS., 2006), the Spiral of the Sea has demonstrated ANTIINFLAMMATORY
(Lopez G., 2012) and ANTI-RADICAL properties, ideal for taking care of irritated skin exposed to stress.
