Iscaguard 9251 is a multifunctional additive, combining a highly effective emollient / skin conditioning agent with a broad spectrum preservative. Iscaguard 9251 is suitable for use in all types of cosmetic products, but is particularly useful in deodorising and sensitive skin applications. The preservative boosting properties of ethylhexylglycerin, along with its outstanding emolliency, allows formulators to create safer, gentler formulations. Iscaguard 9251 may be used as a stand alone preservative, or in combination with other antimicrobial agents.
Iscaguard 9251 is compatible with most personal care ingredients. In aqueous formulations, heating to 40°C may be required in order to fully dissolve
the preservative. It has limited solubility in water, but is freely soluble in
alcohols and glycols.
